Rent with Thred and Davenport both let you choose the clothes. Thred’s public pages describe a flat monthly plan and swapping an order as a set. Davenport prices each piece, and you can send one piece back without sending the others.
Who picks the clothes
Rent with Thred. You pick from Thred’s catalog. Working with a stylist is optional.
Davenport. You pick every piece. The monthly price is on the piece before you order.

Rent with Thred. Thred’s public brand list includes Todd Snyder, Buck Mason, Faherty, Filson, and Marine Layer.
Davenport. Rhone, Peter Millar, Vuori, Sun Day Red, Rhoback, Marine Layer, Faherty, and the other brands on our brands page. The focus is golf and athleisure.
How a swap works
Rent with Thred. Thred’s home page says you swap the order and return the clothes together to order again. The FAQ lists a fee to swap a piece that does not fit.
Davenport. Each piece rents on its own. Send one back when you are done with it. You do not have to return the rest of the order the same day.
Style help
Rent with Thred. Thred says you can work with a stylist when you want help, on top of picking the clothes yourself.
Davenport. Find Your Style is your AI-powered personal stylist. Your Style Profile names your archetype, colors, fit, and outfits from pieces we can rent in your size. You still pick what goes in the suitcase.
Buying a piece
Rent with Thred. Thred’s FAQ says you can purchase an item after renting it and that sold items are final sale. A buyout formula is not published on that page.
Davenport. Every piece shows a buyout price. It starts at 90% of retail when the piece is brand new and steps down with earlier rentals, and it does not go below 40% of retail. Buy it from your account and billing for that piece stops.
Stopping
Rent with Thred. Thred’s FAQ says you can cancel, and that there are no refunds.
Davenport. You start a return for a piece from your account. There is no separate cancellation fee. A 1-month Closet rental stops billing for that piece once you request the return after that month. A longer length, or a piece we buy new for you, is the length you chose at checkout.
